The greenhouse gases are heating up the earth.It is a non-disputed fact that with the penetrating of industrialization the emission of large quantities of greenhouse gases(mainly the carbon dioxide) has led to the global warming and climate changes.According to the latest survey,an unexpected sea-level rise of 1.9 meters might take place at the end of this century.If so,Tuvalu,an island country of the South Pacific,would be the first to be swallowed up by the sea.

　

　 The greenhouse effect,a warm keeping effect,is formed due to the lack of heat exchange between the sunlight-through closed space and the outside,and the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere,a piece of thick glass-like,makes the earth a large greenhouse.It is estimated that the average surface temperature would drop to —23℃ if there was no atmosphere.

Scientists' Forecast:If the earth's surface temperature keeps rising at its current rate,some island countries and coastal cities-including New York、Shanghai、Tokyo and Sydney will be swallowed up.
